“Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.”

― Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

Although coined Desponia, this unknown Goddess was the keeper of mysteries. Her real name could not be revealed to anyone except those initiated to her Eleusinian ways.

The Eleusinian mysteries were the most famous in ancient Greece. Mysteries were religious practices characterized by initiation rites, cathartic and ecstatic practices, and a code of silence. Eleuseos means "the coming," so the word Eleusinian refers to a spiritual advent. Mysterion means to close the mouth or eyes; its root mu imitates the sound made with the lips closed. Mysteria thus signified an event defined by closing the lips, closing the eyes, and entering into darkness. The journey of consciousness taken from that point onward was a mystery indeed.

Here, she is woman, hovering between the worlds. She represents all that is hidden and unnamed within you, both that which seeks to hide and that which cries out, waiting to be revealed.

Hidden images are incorporated for the viewer to discover on her own. The original work was created at an astrologically favorable time with magickally appropriate aspects. The art works as a talisman to incorporate her shadow soul energies to awaken the dormant divine feminine within you. May She be a light to guide your way.
